Several beautiful manor houses can be found along the northern coast,
for example Palmse, situated approximately 90 km from Tallinn in the
direction of Narva. The building was begun in 1697, but the present
appearance was achieved through extensive remodelling towards the
end of the 18th century. The Palmse manor house is now the Center
of the Lahemaa National Park.
