Estonia: Conference "The Estonian Language and Culture Abroad""

The Estonian Institute and the Budapest Romanian Cultural Institute organise in Budapest and Szegedi concerts at the Jazzlocomotive series. Estonia is represented by the musician, conductor and composer Siim Aimla, who was elected the musician of the year 2011 by the Estonian Public Broadcasting.

Finland: Mother Tongue Day in Helsinki

The Mother Tongue Day is traditionally marked with visiting the Latokartano school, and a seminar for teachers and parents in the Estonian House. Before the seminar, the Society of Education in the Estonian Language awards the participants in the drawing and writing competition of young adults.

Hungary: premiere of the film "Spring" in Budapest

As a homage to Oskar Luts, whose 125th anniversary was celebrated in January, the film club shows "Spring", made after the book of the same name (1970). The film is among the best of Estonian film classics, depicting the everyday life of children at a village school in a humorous vein.
