Y GalleryKüütri 2, Tartu Y Gallery is a non-profit gallery of the University of Tartu that does not charge rent from the artists. Y Gallery does not sell or buy artworks either. To book the exhibition time, an artist must present an application to the council of the gallery. The Gallery operates at 2 Küütri opposite the university main building. It has several rooms with different shapes that enables to have diverse exhibitions. Y Gallery has a dynamic exhibition programme, with the display exchanging every two weeks as a rule. There are usually several personal exhibitions at the same time. Y Gallery prefers to exhibit contemporary art in all its diversity. |

After ending the exhibition practice a few years ago, Draakon continued as a gallery selling paintings, graphic art and applied art. Since early 2003 the gallery is once again organising exhibitions of Estonian and foreign artists; and has joined several art education programmes. The redecorated and rejuvenated gallery is also selling artworks. In addition, the newly opened cellar hall offers the buyers highquality contemporary Estonian paintings and the work of young painters, graphic artists and photographers. |
